Match Preview ACL Two Group G MD5 | Bangkok United FC vs Selangor FC | The #RedGiants Relishing Bangkok Test

Selangor FC will face Bangkok United FC tonight in their fifth ACLTWO 2025/26 group match at the Pathum Thani Stadium, kicking off at 8:15pm Malaysia time.

In their second year competing in this tournament, the Red Giants were drawn into Group G alongside Bangkok United FC, Lion City Sailors FC and Persib Bandung.

Selangor FC head coach, Christophe Gamel, expressed his confidence in the line-up that will take the field.

“We know we will be facing a very strong opponent. The main focus of the team is to continue working hard, stay concentrated, and be fully prepared for tonight’s match as well as the upcoming fixtures. This is a good challenge for the team. I will also field the best players as this is an opportunity to assess the abilities of other players and evaluate their potential for future matches,” he explained.

“For the team, the most important thing is to show good teamwork and maintain high spirit in situations like this. We must remain disciplined if we want a positive result, as tonight’s opponents possess strong technical qualities and great speed,” he added.

In terms of player availability, Sharul Nazeem is unable to join the team due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Meanwhile, Haiqal Lau and Zikri Khalili are in the final stages of recovery before returning to full training with the squad. The players currently in Thailand are determined to deliver their best performance for the fans and the club tonight.

The Selangor FC management is confident that regardless of the circumstances, the team will give their all to bring home a positive result. Come on, Red Giants!
